Awakening Stillpoint is a neuroscience-informed sanctuary supporting deep relaxation, emotional balance, meditation, and inner exploration through Sound Healing, Guided Meditations, and Scientific Education.
Through a membership format, sessions and resources are accessible anytime and from anywhere, offering support for nervous-system regulation, inner balance, and personal and spiritual growth.
The Power of Sound and Vibrations
Why Sound? Why Vibrations?
Sound and vibration have been used for healing, regulation, ritual, and transformation across cultures for thousands of years. From drumming, chanting, and humming to singing bowls, tuning forks, and meditative music, nearly every culture has developed practices that use sound to influence mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. Contemporary neuroscience increasingly demonstrates that sound and music influence emotional processing, nervous-system regulation, attention, physiology, and patterns of brain activity (e.g., Koelsch, 2014; Perry, Wolff, Powers, Thompson, & Baumann, 2025; Singh, Gupta, Behera, & Bhushan, 2025).
We encounter the psychological power of sound constantly in everyday life. Music in films, for example, can profoundly shape emotional experience, tension, memory, and perception. A scene that feels frightening with sound may feel almost neutral without it. Sound does not merely accompany experience — it helps organize and influence it.
Greater Ease
In the context of sound healing, sound and vibration are used intentionally to support relaxation, nervous-system regulation, and the body’s natural tendency toward balance and homeostasis. Especially for individuals experiencing stress, overwhelm, heightened sensitivity, fatigue, anxiety, or nervous-system dysregulation, sound-based practices can help facilitate the relaxation response (Salamon, Kim, Beaulieu, & Stefano, 2002). From this perspective, healing is not understood as forcing change, but as supporting the nervous system’s capacity for flexibility, regulation, restoration, and resilience — creating more internal space for clarity, creativity, emotional balance, and well-being.
More Subtle ...
Many contemplative and traditional healing systems also describe more subtle dimensions of human experience. Within Vedic philosophy, for example, sound is thought to influence subtle energetic pathways (nadis) and energy centers (chakras). In these traditions, imbalance or blockage within the flow of energy is believed to contribute to emotional, mental, or physical distress. As neurologist Kulreet Chaudhary writes:
“When we are ill, the body’s natural order of frequencies is altered, but when we are exposed to certain external vibrations in sound, our rhythms can be restored.” (Chaudhary, 2020, p.34)
Science-Informed Sound Healing
At Awakening Stillpoint, sound healing sessions are informed by both contemporary neuroscience and contemplative traditions, including Kriya Yoga and Vedic philosophy. Drawing from my background in psychology, cognitive neuroscience, meditation, neurofeedback, and sound-based practices, the recordings and sessions are created to support deep relaxation, nervous-system recalibration, emotional balance, and inner coherence. The intention is not only symptom reduction, but also the cultivation of greater ease, clarity, resilience, vitality, and connection to oneself.
Common Experiences with Sound Healing
While every person responds differently, clients frequently describe experiences such as:
- Deep physical and mental relaxation
- Reduced stress, overwhelm, and nervous-system activation
- Improved sleep and recovery
- A greater sense of emotional balance and inner calm
- Feeling more grounded, centered, or internally connected
- Increased clarity, creativity, and mental spaciousness
- Improved awareness of emotions, patterns, or inner processes
- Moments of insight, release, or renewed vitality
- A sense of energetic openness, resonance, or flow
- Feeling more present, nourished, and connected to themselves
Rather than forcing a particular outcome, the sessions are designed to create conditions that support relaxation, nervous-system flexibility, inner coherence, and the body’s natural capacity for restoration and self-regulation.
“I felt deeply nourished”
“I had no idea what to expect when I signed up for a Sound Healing session with Stella. When the session began, I felt my body respond almost immediately to the sounds and vibrations created by the instruments she used. After some time, I dropped into a deeply restorative sleep that felt profoundly regenerating and cleansing. Later in the session, a few gentle questions brought awareness to emotions and experiences that had been long held beneath the surface.
By the end of the session, I felt deeply nourished and honestly astonished by the experience. I have since continued working with Stella and feel that, with each session, new aspects of myself are gradually becoming more accessible and unlocked.”

Meet Dr. Stella J. Wuttke
Dr. Stella J. Wuttke integrates psychology, cognitive neuroscience, meditation, sound healing, and contemplative practice in her work supporting nervous-system regulation, emotional balance, and personal transformation. After roughly fifteen years in academic research and teaching, her work gradually evolved toward a more integrative approach combining science-informed sound healing, meditation, neurofeedback, and spiritual practice.
“Sound or vibration is the most powerful force in the universe.”
